Kichizo Yoshida is the epitome of stoic and considered Japanese craftsmanship. In 1935 he established Yoshida Kaban Seisakujo in Kandasuda-cho Tokyo. Compelled to produce bags of the finest quality, Yoshida was also determined to only create bags that were first and foremost functional. It is a lesson he brought to his craft from the Great Kantō of 1923 which devastated his native Kanagawa Prefecture as well as his time in the army during the second world war.
